Stroke is a health battle …

Ms V’s will be at Valley Redemptive Church, Pastor D.W. Bryant (11430 Fair Oaks Blvd. Fair Oaks) for their Annual Community Family Festival, on Saturday, June 24 from 10am to 3pm. They will have popcorn & movies; BBQ, burgers and hot dogs; vintage cars on display; karaoke, DJ & music, vendors selling their wares, games and a bounce house. So if you have time in your schedule – stop by or if there is anyone you know that would like to modify their diet in reducing the salt content – tell them to look us up.

Stroke is the No. 3 killer in the United States and the leading cause of disability. The burden of stroke is greater among African Americans than any other ethnic group in America. Although 100,000 African Americans suffer a stroke each year, stroke is, in most cases, not inevitable. Factors to consider: family history, age, ethnicity, high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, obesity, or high cholesterol – all this can be changed or treated. Remember to read your food labels.

Feedback from some of our customers:

Ok, so I could not stop eating my popcorn, after sprinkling “Spice is Nice” on it. It was so very good. (Stove top popcorn in my favorite pot). Sourdough baguettes: Cut the baguette into slices, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with the Spice and man oh man! Seleste R.

Love it! Has added life to my dull meals! I never knew what spices to use so I just didn’t – talk about bland. Now I don’t have to worry, Ms V solved it all! Thanks so much!!! Brenda M.
