The amount of salt in food is listed as “sodium” on the Nutrition Facts label that appears on food packaging. The Dietary Guidelines recommend that the general population consume no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day (about a teaspoon of table salt). (It was recently lowered from 3,000 mg by the FDA for 2015 – 2020). Most food labels shorten the word “milligrams” to “mg.” Dietary recommendations and food labels use sodium rather than salt since it is the sodium component of salt that is most relevant for human health.
Some people are more sensitive to the effects of salt than others. The guidelines also recommend that, in general, individuals with hypertension, blacks, middle-aged and older adults should limit intake to 1,500 mg of sodium per day. The exceptions to this guideline are people whose doctors have put them on a diet that requires even less sodium because of a medical condition. Always follow your doctor’s recommendation about how much sodium you can have daily.
That is where Ms V’s Spice is Nice One Step Seasoning (Sodium Free) spices can help. There is no worry about how much salt because this seasoning will eliminate your need or concern about the amount of salt you are using because there is none. With the removal of salt, you have added flavor and a slight bite. There are people who may be allergic to something like garlic, I will customize their purchase without garlic.
I just attended an event this past weekend and I am always pleased and surprised with the number of repeat customers that came to our booth to replenish. That was such a joy, especially when a mother was instructed by her daughter to make sure she picked a bottle for her. But the mother took it a few steps further and purchased five bottles for other family members.
One woman shared that when she initially purchased her Spice is Nice and her husband tried it, he removed the salt from the table. About a month ago, they ran out and he was constantly asking when she was going to get more because he uses it on his oatmeal. She bought three.
